Canine Massage
Canine massage is a therapeutic, hands-on treatment designed to support your dog’s physical and emotional well-being. Whether your dog is an athlete, aging, recovering from injury, or simply in need of relaxation, massage can provide significant health benefits. The initial session begins with a thorough assessment, including observation of gait, posture, muscle tone, and joint mobility, as well as a discussion of your dog’s medical history, lifestyle, and any current concerns. This allows the treatment to be tailored specifically to your dog’s needs. Massage techniques may include deep tissue work, gentle strokes, stretching, and myofascial release, depending on your dog’s condition and comfort level. Benefits of regular canine massage include improved circulation, reduced muscle tension, enhanced flexibility, decreased pain and inflammation, and faster recovery from activity or injury. It also promotes relaxation, reduces stress and anxiety, and supports emotional balance—particularly beneficial for nervous or reactive dogs. Outcomes often include increased mobility, improved posture, better performance in active dogs, and enhanced overall quality of life. Whether used as part of a rehabilitation plan or for general wellness, canine massage is a safe, non-invasive therapy that helps your dog feel and move better.
Canine Osteopathy Techniques
A holistic, hands-on manual therapy that focuses on restoring optimal structure and function within the canine’s body. Canine osteopathy recognizes that the musculoskeletal system, fascia, viscera, and nervous system are interconnected and influence overall health and performance.
A canine osteopath uses gentle manual techniques—such as soft tissue work, joint mobilization, cranial techniques, and visceral manipulation—to assess and address areas of restriction, imbalance, or compensation. The goal is to improve mobility, circulation, neurological function, reduce pain and encourage the canine’s natural ability to self-regulate and heal.
Canine osteopathy is commonly integrated into performance maintenance, senior care, rehabilitation programs, and wellness care to support posture, biomechanics, and overall functional movement.
Additional Modalities
In a BMT session you also may see other modalities included in the treatment such as red light therapy (solarium or laser), kinesiology taping, thermographic imaging, and rehabilitation exercises. All modalities are designed to work with each other to provide the highest standard of care and progression for your animals health and wellbeing, and sometimes if being honest the wellbeing of the owner too.
"Dogs teach us a lot of things, but none more important than to love unconditionally."
